Only students in postgraduate programs, government-funded students, and those on PhD extension programs can apply with their spouses and dependent children
Key Points:
- The validity of your student visa will depend on the duration of your course. After legally residing in the UK for 10 years, you can apply for permanent residency under the 10-year long residence route
Requirements:
- Your child must be between 4 and 11 years old and have received an offer from a UK independent school
- This visa can only be applied for by one parent, and the other parent cannot reside in the UK at the same time
- You need to live with your child during your stay in UK
- You must meet the relevant financial requirements to cover living expenses
Key Points:
- The validity of your visa will depend on the duration of your child’s course, lasting until the child turns 12. Even if multiple children are studying in the UK, only one parent can apply for the dependent visa, while the other can only enter the UK as a tourist for a short stay
Requirements:
- You currently hold a student visa in the UK
- You have successfully completed a UK degree or higher qualification
- You need to apply from within the UK

- The graduate visa is valid for 2 years; if you are a PhD graduate, it is valid for 3 years. If you wish to remain in the UK after your visa expires, you may consider switching to a Skilled Worker visa, UK Innovator visa, or the Isle of Man Innovator visa to obtain permanent residency and citizenship
Requirements:
- You need to demonstrate you are an exceptional talent in fields such as arts and culture, film and television, architecture, fashion, digital technology, science, engineering, humanities and social sciences, or medicine. You must obtain an endorsement letter from an endorsement body designated by the UK Home Office to prove that you are an outstanding leader or talent in your industry
Key Points:
- This visa is suitable for leaders or talents who wish to demonstrate outstanding performance in specified industries. Applicants need to obtain an endorsement letter from a designated endorsement body and meet its criteria based on their industry
Requirements:
- The domestic worker must have been employed by the employer for at least one year before applying for the visa
- The employer must demonstrate that their main residence is outside the UK, and that the purpose of bringing the domestic worker to the UK is for a short stay, such as accompanying the employer on travel or business trips
- The domestic worker must enter the UK with the employer, who is required to pay the minimum wage according to UK employment law and provide accommodation and holidays
Key Points:
- The domestic worker visa is granted for a duration of six months and cannot be extended; if needed, a new application can be made from outside the UK
- Since the purpose of the domestic worker visa is to accompany the employer for a short stay in the UK, families immigrating to the UK generally cannot apply for a domestic worker to move with them. A more feasible approach is to transfer the domestic worker’s employment contract to a relative, such as a father-in-law or mother-in-law. Subsequently, the domestic worker can hold the domestic worker visa to accompany the relatives to the UK for travel and visit the former employer
