- Business Plan:
Applicants need to have an innovative, viable, and scalable business plan, and must obtain an Endorsement letter from an UK Endorsement Body to confirm the innovation, viability, and scalability of the business concept
- Innovation:
You must present a genuine, original business plan that addresses new or existing market needs and/or creates a competitive advantage
- Viability:
Your business plan should be realistic and achievable given your available resources. You must possess, or be actively developing, the necessary skills, knowledge, experience, and market awareness to successfully operate your business
- Scalability:
There should be clear evidence of structured planning and the potential for job creation and growth in both national and international markets
- English Proficiency:
Applicants must provide relevant educational qualifications or pass the B2 exam (achieving a score of 5.5 in each of the four components: listening, speaking, reading, and writing; the certificate is valid for two years)
- Family Members:
Can apply together with spouse and dependent children
Key Points:
- This visa is particularly suitable for entrepreneurs and experienced business professionals looking to establish innovative businesses in the UK. In addition to having an innovative and viable plan, applicants must choose an appropriate endorsement body and meet its specified criteria to obtain an Endorsement letter
- If you are a startup, you might consider the Isle of Man Innovator visa, which offers more flexibility and relaxed requirements for obtaining permanent residency
Procedure:
- Apply outside UK
- Select standard service (3 months) or priority service (30 working days)
- Granted 3-year visa

Requirements:
- Once the initial application is successful, you will receive a three-year visa. During this period, the endorsement body will closely monitor your business progress and conduct evaluations at the 6-month, 12-month, and 24-month marks to confirm whether you have made reasonable progress in terms of innovation, viability, and scalability
- If you meet at least two of the following seven criteria within three years, you may apply for permanent residency:
- At least £50,000 has been invested into the business and actively spent furthering the business
- The business’s customer base must have doubled within the most recent three years and is currently higher than the mean number of customers for other UK businesses offering comparable main products or services
- The business has engaged in significant research and development activity and has applied for intellectual property protection in the UK
- The business has generated a minimum annual gross revenue of £1million in the last full year covered by its accounts
- The business is generating a minimum annual gross revenue of £500,000 in the last full year covered by its accounts, with at least £100,000 from exporting overseas
- The business has created the equivalent of at least 10 full-time jobs for settled workers
- The business has created the equivalent of at least 5 full-time jobs for settled workers, each of which has a mean salary of at least £25,000 a year (gross pay, excluding any allowances)
- At least £50,000 has been invested into the business and actively spent furthering the business
- Must not be absent from the UK for more than 180 days in any 12-month period within the last 3 years
- Pass the Life in the UK Test
Key Points:
- If you fail to meet at least two of the above seven criteria within three years, you may consider applying for a visa extension. Your visa will be granted for an additional three years until you can meet the relevant business requirements and then apply for permanent residency
Procedure:
- Must apply inside UK
- Official processing time is 6 months
- You must remain in the UK while the application is pending, otherwise your application will be considered as withdrawn

Requirements:
- Must not be absent from the UK for more than 450 days in the last 5 years, and not more than 90 days in the last 12 months
- Must have held indefinite leave to remain status for the last 12 months
- Prove you were in the UK exactly 5 years before the day the Home Office receives your application
- Must be of good character; any criminal record, driving offenses, bankruptcy record, or visa refusal history must be disclosed
- Provide 2 referees for your application
Procedure:
- Must apply inside UK
- Official processing time is 6 months, with no priority service, you can travel freely while the application is pending
