- Investment Funds:
You will need to show a minimum investment fund of GBP 50,000 to be invested in your Isle of Man business and confirm the source of funds
- Business Plan:
Applicants need to have an innovative, viable, and scalable business plan, and must obtain an Endorsement letter from the Isle of Man Government Department of Enterprise to confirm the innovation, viability, and scalability of the business concept
- Innovation:
You must present a genuine, original business plan that addresses new or existing market needs and/or creates a competitive advantage
- Viability:
Your business plan should be realistic and achievable given your available resources. You must possess, or be actively developing, the necessary skills, knowledge, experience, and market awareness to successfully operate your business
- Scalability:
There should be clear evidence of structured planning and the potential for job creation and growth in both national and international markets
- English Proficiency:
Applicants must provide relevant educational qualifications or pass the B2 exam (achieving a score of 5.5 in each of the four components: listening, speaking, reading, and writing; the certificate is valid for two years)
- Family Members:
Can apply together with spouse and dependent children
Key Points:
- To apply for the Isle of Man Innovator Visa, it is essential to obtain an endorsement letter from the Department of Enterprise

- Once we confirm your business idea’s eligibility, we can prepare a comprehensive business plan and financial projections to submit the endorsement application on your behalf
- Your business plan should include a unique business idea that meets market needs; a business model with objectives and key customers; an employment structure with expected employee numbers and wages; details on premises (rental or purchase); a marketing plan identifying customer locations, whether on or off-Island; an analysis of suitability for the Isle of Man; and a full financial projections for the next three years
Procedure:
- Must apply outside IOM
- Standard processing time is 3 months
- Granted 3-year visa
- Enter the IOM within 180 days upon approval to meet residency requirements; otherwise, you may need to apply for a visa renewal in due course
Requirements:
- Once the initial application is successful, you will receive a three-year visa. During this period, the Department of Enterprise will closely monitor your business progress and conduct regular evaluations to confirm whether you have made reasonable progress in terms of innovation, viability, and scalability
- If you meet the following criteria within three years, you may apply for permanent residency:
- At least £50,000 has been invested into the business and actively spent furthering the business
- The business must create at least three positions for British citizens or permanent residents, each lasting a minimum of 12 months.
- The business are actively trading, hold all necessary registrations, approvals and permissions as required
- The business are compliant with all obligations to the Isle of Man Government in respect of Income Tax, National Insurance and Value Added Tax
- The Migrant intends to continue to operate the business in the Isle of Man
- Must not be absent from the Isle of Man and UK for more than 180 days in any 12-month period within the last 3 years
- Pass the Life in the UK and Island Test
Procedure:
- Must apply inside IOM
- Standard processing time is 6 months
- Your passport will be held by the Isle of Man Immigration Service until a decision has been made on your application
Requirements:
- Must not be absent from the UK or IOM for more than 450 days in the last 5 years, and not more than 90 days in the last 12 months
- Must have held indefinite leave to remain status for the last 12 months
- Prove you were in the UK or IOM exactly 5 years before the day the Home Office receives your application
- Must be of good character; any criminal record, driving offenses, bankruptcy record, or visa refusal history must be disclosed
- Provide 2 referees for your application
Procedure:
- Can apply in IOM or UK
- Official processing time is 6 months
